What the early church really preached

Let's get back to what the Bible actually records

It's been almost 2000 years since Jesus walked the earth and his disciples began to preach the gospel to all the world.

John the Baptist introduced Jesus to the world as he who would baptise us with the Holy Spirit. After his resurrection, Jesus commanded his disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the "promise of the Father", the baptism with the Holy Spirit.

Shortly after his ascension in heaven, the promised Holy Spirit was poured out upon the disciples, and the early church began its commission. From that day the apostles went out into the world, telling them to, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

The book of Acts records the gospel going out, and the stories of those who were, as Jesus said, “born again”, “born of water and of the Spirit” with a view to entering the kingdom of God. Has this been your experience?
