This year the New Zealand Christmas Camp is being held in the South Island just outside of Christchurch, about 20 minutes north of the Christchurch airport. It is a combined camp for all the New Zealand assemblies.

The camp runs over eight nights from the afternoon of December 25th (first meal is dinner) to the morning of January 2nd (last meal is breakfast). All meals are provided – we are self-catering the camp.

The venue

The venue is Woodend Christian Camp, at 124 Woodend Beach Road, Woodend. It is a ten-acre site, surrounded by pine forest and about 1.5 km from Woodend beach. Most of the accommodation will be in cabins, but there is also room for tents and caravans.

What there is to do

There will be a prayer meeting before breakfast, as well as a morning and evening meeting each day. There will be organised activities as well as free days.

The camp has plenty of free activities, including water slides and mini-golf, and some, such as go-karts and archery, that may be available on selected days.

Accommodation and meals

We will allocate all cabin accommodation. Rosters for cooking, dishwashing, cleaning etc. will apply.

First meal is dinner (evening) Christmas Day, and the last is breakfast on the day camp breaks up.

Please note that our menu is unable to cater for special dietary requirements. (There is a separate kitchen which can be used by those needing to prepare their own special meals.)

What to bring

You will need to bring your own bedding, including pillows where possible. We may be able to provide some bedding and pillows for those flying to the camp (indicate if you need this help on the form). Cooking utensils, and crockery and cutlery are provided.

If you are an overseas visitor and a member of the oversight or currently used to give talks or lead choruses, please indicate this on the form. Make sure your local pastor is happy for you to be used in this way.

Camp bookings and fees

NZ saints should pay their camp fees to their own pastor before the end of November.

Billeting

If you are looking for billeting before or after camp please indicate this on the forms.

Casual meals, no accommodation

Day visitors who want casual meals at camp must still put in an application form. To indicate the days you will be needing meals just tick the nights on the form as if you were staying at camp. Then indicate in the notes at the bottom of the form that you are not needing accommodation, only meals. Also indicate any meals during that time you will not be needing.

Bookings deadline

Deadline for application forms is Wednesday, November 29, midnight. We need time to plan and order food, rosters and accommodation.
